Going a perfect 8-0, the “Dream Team” defeated its opponents by an average of 44 points per game, culminating in a victory over Croatia to earn the gold medal. The team was credited with spreading awareness of basketball worldwide, and the greatest team ever assembled was enshrined collectively in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
